Strawberries

Seascape Strawberry

We replaced our strawberry patch this year, the old plants (I think they were Quinalt Strawberries) did not do well last year. For being young plants, and planted late, the new plants have done quite well. Most are planted in our side yard and a few are in pots in the back yard, all are out of the dogs reach. I haven't noticed any disease problems and only a few berries have been damaged by snails. I chose the Seascape Strawberry because it is a day neutral variety, it will produce a light crop through the summer rather than just a big crop in June. The harvest has been pretty light, maybe a handful a week; the crop should be a lot larger next year...Maybe there will be enough to share with Berry and Basil.
