Bobcat, Berry and Basil's new "Brother"

Bobcat playing with a dog Kong!

The newest addition to our family, Bobcat, is settling in nicely. He came to live with us last fall. It took a while for him to get used to Berry and Basil, he had been living with one big old dog, not 2 fast little hellions! He loves that we have a pet door into the garage that the dogs have been trained not to use so he can run through the house with the dogs chasing him and fly through the pet door and taunt the dogs from the other side.

Tucked-in the middle of four pillows

When we first came to the house we kept him in the guest bedroom/sewing room with the door shut at first, then with a fence in the open doorway, so he could come and go as he pleased with out the dogs entering the room. Now he thinks that room is HIS, and sleeps all day on the guest bed. I try to keep the cat hair under control by covering the bed with a sheet…but he would always find a way to get the sheet off of the pillows and sleep on them…I finally had to remove the pillows because he decided that he liked sleeping tucked in under them!

Maybe Bobcat learned the getting under covers trick from Berry.

I had a ladies sewing night at the house last week, we all planned to work on old/unfinished sewing projects. Almost a year ago I cut out parts for a cat bed but hadn’t gotten around to actually sewing it up; that ended up being my project for sewing night. The pattern is Butterick 4048, the outer cover is fleece and it is filled with Poly-fil Micro Beads so it is nice and comfy…almost as nice as the guest pillows. (I really like the Micro-beads...however they can make a mess when filling the bed, be sure to follow the directions on the package and have a helper, and don't work with them when there is a lot of static in the air!)

The micro-beads are contained by the pretty lining, the cover is closed by Velcro and can be washed in the machine.
